Now that I have gotten past some of the contextual build up, the writing is much more enjoyable and I find I can read more, easier.

I’m so close to finishing this, I’ve told myself the next time I pick this up will be the last time for a long time.

If only I could properly discern everybody’s nicknames. also wondered if the reason that because Dostoyevsky was paid per page that he wrote dramatically in every dialogue to drag it out, and how everyone’s name was so long and how he would mainly mention their full names.

As the book goes on and more characters are introduced, the more I get confused with character names, so I feel slightly more disconnected from each individual. Yet, this does not affect the essence of the book due to my main focus being on Raskalnikov, the albeit perturbed protagonist. I don’t even know what sort of resolution I would want, nor can see one down the road.
