Lauded by Stephen King as the epitome of 70s horror, I had to pick it up. But I'm finding it hard to follow -- there's too many people to keep track of...most I don't care about or cannot understand the connection they play to the narrative. Where's the beef...er, horror? Le sigh.

I am not a DNFer, but my fortitude not to DNF this book is waning. I'm having to push back reading other books because this one is looming over my head, and I feel I can't move forward...I HATE that feeling!
