I’m perplexed by the absurd manner in which the author jumps between verb tenses throughout the book. It’s not uncommon to find past, future and present tenses in the same paragraph. This is all history. It would’ve been completely logical to narrate it as such. And the copious mentions of what Madoff said in his, "first interview from jail", or however she states it, I just don’t understand.
