Definitely a lot of anthropological terms and allusions I don’t have the breadth of knowledge to appreciate, but the core argument around there being a “cosmic polity” in many animist religions that can then serve as cultural/political foundations for early states and kingship was very convincing. A great first essay, can’t wait to go further.
