I felt that I found it hard to connect to the characters because the stories felt rushed. We had multiple dress descriptions, which I found to be repetitive and unnecessary, but I couldn't get to see the characters' depths because they didn't seem to be important enough to be described in more detail. And whilst I did enjoy most of the stories, they weren't entertaining enough. I just found myself bored at times.

Lastly, a mating bond that can be created by just kissing or touching someone and can be rejected by kissing or touching someone else is not a mating bond. Passing around a piece of paper has more depth than passing around the mating bond in this series. It really cheapened the mating bond's existence and the overall romantic storyline.

As I was left disappointed with so many things, the series got 2 stars only.

Overall, this series was not for me. I rated 4 of the books 3 stars and 2 of them 2 stars, but overall the series gets 2 stars from me because the writing style was way too weak throughout the series, the characters often didn't make sense in their own inner monologues, the execution of things was boring or surface-level at best and the romance/spice was way too rushed except for one or two of the books.

The descriptions were surface level with barely any depth to them and often felt messy as I didn't understand how we got to one point from the other. We weren't told or shown when something happened, the scene/action just switched. I had to force my mind to adjust to the new picture and It is disturbing when someone is reading in a way that a whole movie goes through their mind. It's like someone cutting a scene off.

Well, now that I finished the 6th and last book, The Primal Fae's Queen, and the series, I have to say, I was left disappointed with this last book. I liked Naomi and Teris, which I didn't think I would. But other than that... the plot was just there, boring, the writing was weak, the execution of the scenes were lacking or ignored and important scenes were often skipped.

I am so confused with what is going on most of the time because everything jumps around. The scenes, the descriptions, the execution. It’s messy.

And the actions don’t make sense. One second they are in their animal form and then they are conversing in their human form. When did they change? If the author doesn’t want to keep repeating that they shifted, she could just hint at it. Teris was in his animal form and then he hugged Naomi to his chest. When did he change? My mind didn’t switch and now I am imagining a sabertooth hugging a human looking fae.

This book has the weakest execution of the scenes. No fight described even though the fight was a side-plot. They followed the creatures to fight again, only to have nothing but Teris and Naomi talking mind to mind and the fae resolving the issue with some power display in 2 paragraphs. It’s incredibly disappointing.

That had to be the most disappointing fighting scene ever. Why, you may ask. Because there was none. Teris went into the fight as the chapter ended. Next chapter’s first sentence, “the fight was over…”. I mean… way to minimise the weight of the plot, I guess.

Oh come on! Are you seriously telling me that Naomi had to ask the creatures for help and they went along with it just like that? Are you telling me that this side-plot was resolved with just 2-3 sentences? That’s just so weak. At least a heartfelt speech, a little passion or an explanation could’ve helped. Instead we got a “we need you to protect us” and a roar as an agreement. That’s pretty disappointing.

To be honest, I am liking Teris and Naomi more than I thought I would. The story is still rushed, the writing style is still weak but it is less harsh. Whilst Naomi and Teris are cute together, I felt that the romance was rushed. I understand why… because of the plot and their past, but with how much history they had, I would have needed a bit more build up, a bit more longing, a bit more tension. It was too fast.
