“Point your toes, and imagine that you’re a pole, perfectly straight.” I was impressed I was able to keep my touch disinterested, though I longed to trace and explore his skin.
“I’m a pole, I’m a pole,” he chanted. “I’m a pole… I wish someone would dance on me.”

“I’m not good enough for you, Fe. But…” he shrugged, giving me his crooked smile, “no else one is either. So I might as well take you for my own. Marry me.”

My eyes flew open, as did my mouth, and my head reared back, “Greg!”
“And other things!” He grinned, wagging his eyebrows, pulling me forward, “I thought, I am going to tap that ass, as well as other things, all having to do with how lovely you are and how much I respect you as a person.”

“By being honest. By playing no games. When I tell you that I’m a selfish bastard, I mean it. And when I tell you that you’re wonderful and amazing and stunning and definitely the most extraordinary woman I’ve ever met, you’ll know I mean that, too.”

"You and Mark aren’t established enough to be exclusive. Until you become exclusive with a person, you can date as many other guys as you like.”
“Just don’t have sex with any of them.” Greg’s words were anxious, drawing both mine and Fern’s attention.

“I take offense to the fact that you would stand here and belittle Simone’s beliefs and her work to correct what she feels are grave wrongs when you take no action to fight for your beliefs. It is one thing to compare or even belittle sacred truths when both parties are working toward rectifying wrongs. But it is quite another to rail against a person who is doing something when you do nothing.”
