Status report: The protagonist has been shipped to Costa Rica to work growing chicken meat, not chickens, just the meat. His sort-of wife is palling around with a midget space jockey after assuming him dead from a conniving coworker's power play. He's fallen in with a terrorist group known as conservationists and worked his way up through their ranks to be shipped back to New York. Goal: convince employer not dead.

An advertising exec has just landed the gig of a lifetime: selling a glamorous new life on Venus. The only problem being that Venus is totally inhospitable, and they're dooming their potential customers to a life of misery, but such is the lot of consumers. The future has become a sort of corporate feudalism, but on the bright side, you actually know who the politicians represent.
