Meatt made eye contact with me and pointed at Balthazar. I smirked and again asked my water element power to come out to play. A waterfall fell on his head as soon as his butt hit the chair. The class’s laughter echoed around the room.

“Balthazar, thanks for blessing us with your presence,” Professor Meatt said with an eye roll. “Change back to your normal size. I don’t need my shit breaking.”
He rolled his shoulders and shrunk. “Sorry, my girl Tila likes me big.” He wiggled his eyebrows and went to an open chair.

A couple of people read their papers. I shot water at anyone being rude. Meatt even pointed at people for me to drench toward the middle of the class.

“Chill, it’s Kain,” Trigger whispered.
“What’s taking so long? Oh…” his voice trailed off as his eyes took in the scene before him. “Trigger, we've talked about this.”
“Shut up, Kain. I’m just doing the spell. It has to be on the skin. It also needs to be hidden. I’m almost done,” Trigger grumbled.

"Oh shit. His envy demon has something to flaunt in our faces. Go ahead," Kain said. He sat up and gave him his full attention, really interested in what he would say. He gestured in front of him, as if to say, the floor is yours.

Every time my eyes slipped. Trigger laughed. The fucker. He laughed so much, Bones finally gave in. "What the fuck is so funny?"
Trigger bounced on his toes and wiggled his fingers together. "Finally, someone asked."

I fucking hated life. The only light in my darkness was off-limits. Even if I wanted those pink eyes to stare at me like she did to her men.

Only in my dreams. People like me don’t get that happiness. I thought I had it once and look how that turned out.

“Let’s go hunting,” Kain said.
“Fuck ya,” Trigger said and practically skipped out the door. I nodded and followed my brother. I was fucking done with her. The worst part was we’d still stay loyal to her because of the Goddess, and we’d probably have to return to pretending to keep Lucifer off our backs. But right now, she needed to feel our wrath. I hoped it hurt her the way she had hurt me.

My mouth opened in surprise. It felt so natural, I didn't know what to do. So, I ignored it.
