44%, page 167 — I’ve not read this for almost a week due to starting my new job, that paired with not fully connecting with the story. There are elements that are putting me off - Jay continually calling Evy ‘sweetheart’ feels so awkward and forced for a boy of his age. Evy continually referring to the ‘delicious warmth’ any time that Jay is within close vicinity of her makes me cringe.

Starting off strong, immediately growing a relationship with Evy & Jay - I couldn’t help but love them immediately. Jay seems super sweet and like a real gentleman straight off the bat, it’s no surprise that Evy is into him right away. I kept finding myself smiling, giggling and kicking my heels at their interactions.

So far, the author is great at introducing characters, they have so far been introduced at a great, gradual speed and if hasn’t been at all overwhelming. Author is also great with being very descriptive with their individual appearances.

I also originally thought that the book was about the main characters as adults, I was surprised when I began reading, only to discover that it was based in high school as 16 year olds - not quite what I was expecting.
Following losing her virginity, Evy falls asleep and Jay wakes her by playing with her nipples and putting his fingers inside of her - this did not sit right with me and just made me feel incredibly uncomfy.
So far, I have also felt that the writing and language is very rigid and almost doesn’t suit this style of book…
