Weavers had a hard time during the Red Scare. Pete left. Performed at schools, camps. Wrote "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" investigated by HUAC. Went through court, got contempt, and was in jail for a few hours. signed to Colombia Records. Patriarch of folk song; people were finally listening to his songs. Felt like he was making a difference. Succeeded in getting others to sing.
