The mysterious disappearance of a central character does make this book a lot more interesting than the previous one. Although it's tied into the main story (war with the Imperial Order), it makes it seem like a side quest of greater importance and gives the reader a break from that main ark.

After 4 years of not touching this series... I've decided to end all unfinished series. Since the author has passed away this series is definitely concluded and so I will honour his work by reading the remaining books.
