I'm having a hard time coping with a layoff that makes me feel inadequate as a manager. This book is hard for me emotionally. It's telling me to be compassionate to myself, to think about my positives and the good things people say about me. But all I remember are the negative things people said about me.

I want to cry at times. And I've been avoiding sending out job applications because I feel like I'm not worthy.
