Let me start by saying I have been a fan of Schulz for a while, so when I saw that the new 1979-1980 edition of the complete peanuts had finally dropped, I knew this was going to be the best year yet. Having read every other peanuts comic available, I can’t wait to get into it.

The cover is already promising. The subdued orange shade could mean a lot. The title itself has left me speechless. I have no words.

Wow. After waiting close to ten years to begin this volume, the first page has met my expectations. The commentary by Lucy approaches life from an interesting angle. The corner. The citation from Poe by Marcie was enjoyable as well. Snoopy’s antics continue as predicted. Can’t wait to continue reading.

I’m still on the title page. I think this review from Amazon covers a lot of my expectations for this experience:

“Where were you in 1979 and 1980? As you read these strips perhaps you'll recall a part of your life that may have gotten away from you. If not, these panels are worth the trip alone.”

I often think back to this time. Where was I? It’s gotten away from me. Perhaps this is what I’ve needed.
