“I’ve sat with the thought of goodbyes being more of a sending off with God rather than a slammed door, a contact deleted, and a puddle of angst.”
“While the relationships certainly changed, Jesus didn’t let the goodbye change Him.”
“Controlling others is a primary sign of toxicity, not a method for ministry.”
Jesus is a safe refuge to process our feelings. He is truth, His word brings light.

I love how Jesus loved and served people well but he didn’t people please. Many people actually disagreed with him and didn’t like him. He didn’t drop his boundaries, chase them down, and beg them to take them back. “Jesus loved people enough to give them the choice to walk away.”

So far it’s been pretty good. I think when we read books like this it’s easy to get overwhelmed, Lysa even mentions this in the book, and it can seem impractical to being able to apply them to our real lives. I think as I continue reading I will gain insight on how to practically apply boundaries & communicate with the people I love in a healthy way!
