Be interested to know if this is worth the read when you're done.

Yvonne Just finished the book today.
I'd say it is a good overview of the cultural nationalist movements in pre-1921 Ireland. It places a lot of emphasis on the socio-political influence from class divisions and ethnic-social structures in turn-of-the-century Irish society -- might be of interest to you in that respect. He relies a lot on A. D. Smith's theory of "dual legitimation hypothesis" - which is interesting but becomes dull at some point during his application/interpretation.
Overall speaking I'd say do glance through it if you got some time. Especially since it's been much referenced in studies related to Irish nationalism (at least in my research it is). (It took me a couple of days because I am such a slow reader and I knew very little about the Celtic revival.. )

Hope KFC's treating you well in the States!
