So far, an enjoyable historical fiction novel with strong biblical overtones. It helps (a lot) to have some knowledge of Joanna, wife of King Herod's steward. And, enjoyment of ancient history is a plus for the reader.

Some reviews said the book is poorly written. I disagree; in my opinion the author has done a very good job.
