You can keep your philosophical mental diatribes and your bleak, nihilistic outlook on the inner world of every living person. I can deal with a story that starts dark and ends dark, but I can’t do without hope. It took 2 and a half books to make me realize that these are the last books I could ever be prevailed upon to finish reading. Now someone hand me a copy of Pride and Prejudice. I need a palate cleanser.
