Very interesting seeing how men have historically set the beauty standard for women, not just through societal desire, but through cosmetic procedures, since they were the ones inventing them. That makes life seem a bit deterministic for women in a very scary way because men don't know (and historically, don't care) enough about a woman's body to protect it
