This book is too long for its own good. I think she crafts sentences really well but I was really put off by her comparing her relationship to her ex as that of a boxer and a punching bag. I know her husband is awful, but physical abuse was never an issue within their marriage. I think that kind of need to see things as metaphor actually shrouds and obscures the truth of what happened.
