I “enjoyed” Nomadland. I thought it was well researched and written and obviously the author went to extraordinary lengths to understand and document the new nomadic Americans. She did touch on the politics and economics that drive much of this movement but really left it to the travellers to tell their stories. Not being an American or living in the US, but I can still quickly understand how many travellers accepted or embraced the life available to them. Written pre Covid, I only wonder how much more difficult life has become for the disenfranchised in a place with a porous social net, and a growing divide/ wall between the haves and have nots.
