I love the way Chaol's perception and struggle with his newfound disability has grown and evolved. From the start, he hated and despised his body for it. And by this halfway point, he has embraced his disability and has even began training with Hashim and the palace guards of the Khagan. As his love for Yrene grows, I can't help but admire the story of his own internal battles.

Chaol is HEALED! I didn't expect the journey and was annoyed at first at him going back through all his hatred and turmoil. But once it all played out, it was such a beautiful story of true healing and revelation. True character growth. Such a fantastic story!
