Note to future self once I finish the book - even if the ending is good, the pacing up until this point had been ROUGH. I literally have been struggling to care about any of the characters or subplots thus far. Like there are too many random jumping points, introductions of new random characters, superfluous details, and the sporadic read is making the plot fall flat
