This is already so fascinating but also very sad. Something about Pamela trying to remain so strong and confident seeming when everything is falling apart around her makes my heart ache for her. Also the stance of “people are disgusting for romanticizing a man who is a serial killer” is based and correct. I’m still pretty early into the book but I can see this being a 4 or 5 star read!

This book has been horrifying. It has done a wonderful job of humanizing the real victims of The Defendant while also having the distance of using fake names and such for the main Florida sorority the Pamela storyline follows. This last section about Kimberly and how disgusting things occur while you’re living your own life was unsettling but fantastic. This book is changing my brain I think
