Maybe if the ideas that they speak about were interesting and made more sense I might understand the appeal of their intellectual elitism but it feels like they all just wanted to separate themselves from everyday people for the sake of feeling superior. There isn't really an appeal or seduction that leads to them doing bad things. To me they just seem edgy privilege shitheads that do a lot of drugs, talk superficially about classics and almost no character development. I get that they are supposed to be pretentious but some more redeeming qualities would have been refreshing and would have made this more readable
