Note to self to remember for the next part of this book: Atlas was living in the abandoned house next to Lily after a bad relationship with his parents. Lily and atlas fell in love but atlas uncle took him in on his last year on highschool so he moved to Boston. After the death of lilys abusive father, she move to Boston and opened a flower shop. Lily met Ryle, a studying neurosurgeon and they fell in love. His sister whom was very rich began working for Lily at her flower shop and they became best friends. Soon after ryle and Lily move in together and Lily discovers that Ryle cannot handle his anger and becomes abusive. Always very apologetic and remorseful after having physically harmed her. Ryles sister suggested a dinner date at this new restaurant which happened to be an Atlas restaurant and the chef. Atlas discovers that Ryle abuses Lily and he confronts Ryle and gives Lily his info in case she needs help. When Lily becomes scared of Ryle after another physical altercation, she’s takes refuge at atlas’ where he takes her to the hospital for her injuries and is told that she is pregnant. After a few days at atlas she returns to their apartment. Ryle leaves for an internship for a few months in England giving her her space while Lily lives in the apartment. Ryle returns and finds out Lily is pregnant but Lily still does not know where her relationship stands and is very upset, scared and still very much in love with him. Lily and her mother have a heart to heart where she opens up to her mother about what has been going on and her mother, having been abused in the past tells Lily she wants better for her. Lily delivers a little girl, Emerson, and ultimately decides at that moment she wants a divorce and wants better for her little girl. Ryle is heart broken but he would want better for his daughter too.
