I'm not sure this book is for me. Way too much minutae in the name of world-building. Reading a 1000+ page novel is a big commitment, and one I don't think I'm willing to make to this. I'll give it a hundred pages to change my mind.

This took so much patience to get through- and even at 40+ hours (1100+ pages in print) it's only half the story. At least it heated up near the end. Wouldn't recommend to a casual reader- start this only being fully aware of what you're getting into.
