Chris!! This review better be a musical!

What magic to discover you're almost finished as I've just started! After the first three books, however, I had to restart because there were too many pieces of suspicious translation. My labour of love is now to read in accompaniment with a different translation's audiobook (Naxos, Bill Homewood via Audible). In my comprehensive ignorance of the French language and thus uninformed opinion, penguin's modern translation is hitherto (book 3, again) less pleasurable than Isabel Hapgood's eloquently verbose translation. Sometimes penguin's translated lines have the greater impact but Hapgood's lines win four times out of five. Nevertheless, I hope you've enjoyed it and I can't wait for the review!
