I've just started, and this is already so good. Clever and funny, but clearly engaging with serious ideas and feelings beneath that. It speaks pretty much directly to the aesthetics of my teenage self, a lapsed Catholic who still liked to sit peacefully in the local church's crypt. I can perfectly imagine the atmosphere of the places Silvan visits, the scents and the stillness.
