The defining passage of the book:
Thomas of Worstead died today in great pain. As he died, his last words were raving except one thing. He said that he had seen a shadow on the wall that shouldn't have been there, and he was afraid.

The night will pass. Nothing will happen...
It was waiting quietly for me to go upstairs. A shadow moving by candlelight. A shadow that should not have been there. A phantasm. An end is come...
It watcheth for thee. Behold, it is come...

Creepy as...
Whosoever touches a bone of a man or grave shall be unclean.
This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it.
It watcheth for thee. Behold, it is come.
The stuff of nightmares!

So pleased people are reading his horror stuff, it's so good and beautifully written. Lucky to own them all, I think my favourite is Whispers In The Dark, mainly because it's set where I live. He also wrote thrillers under the name Daniel Easterman.
I read about his 2 names in his bio. Thanks for that lead on WHISPERS IN THE DARK, I'll check it out! BTW, that book you're currently reading, PERFUME, is a great choice. I'd love to hear your thoughts when you finish that one!! 😊
