Great example of how a decent novel turns into melodramatic nonsense-romans. As of half way through I pushed forward like a good catholic boy during the mass service thinking there must be some point in all of this pompousness… but eventually after another 50 pages or so I decide enough is enough, I’m done, going home. Life’s too short to continue with the last 50 pages.
