I’m all for sexual tension in a romance but this chapter of a fucking grown man just lusting after our heroine is NOT tasteful at all. It doesn’t help that the writing treats the reader like a simpleton. I’m baffled why people like this book at all or why Goodreads recommended it in an article. It must be a record, that after a mere 36 pages, I’m seriously considering dropping this book.

So far the book’s written like a cliche rom-com. Don’t get me wrong: I love a good old rom-com. But it’s been no fun so far with everything spelled out so plainly, and I needed to pause right here at page 32 because Rome’s musings of how perfect Janelle is and how “shady” he thinks Arnold is for dating the sister. Um…ok? I just can’t continue reading at the moment.
