Kurtxman's Jungle Book isn't a kids book, really, but an anthology of original comics Kurtzman did in the late 1950s which was intended for an adult market--not adult as in pornographit, but as in not designed for kids. Yes, I am familiar with Enid Blyton and have even taught one of her novels, The Treasure Seekers, in my children's literature class. I wonder if this is the one you know as Little Explorers. She was prolific, but many of her books are still in print and popular: The Treasure Seekers and its sequel, The Railway Children, her Five Children books, and many others.
