I’m curious to look more into the ACE study that Katie mentioned that said ACEs cause disablement. Our Mayerson’s study showed that children with disabilities experiences ACEs at a higher level, not that the ACEs caused their disabilities (kids in Cinci have a much higher chance of experiencing ACEs than the state percentage)

The fact that someone called CPS on a parent, who is disabled, for asking her teenage daughter, who is also disabled, to roll her wheelchair from the school bus to the front door to build independence is so DISGUSTING! Do you ppl really think disabled people can’t be independent??

This book has been so eye-opening.

“Police and prisons soak up so many resources that it’s hard to even imagine how different the world could look if those resources were devoted to keeping us all actually safe…”

Interested in the notion that nursing homes can be considered detention centers. Fascinating book so far! I’ve learned a lot and am looking forward to becoming a better abolitionist
