Jayson’s Reviews > Super Crooks, Vol. 1 > Status Update

Jayson
Jayson is starting

Notes:
(1) Totally unnecessary for this new Image edition to change the title from "Supercrooks" to "Super Crooks."
- Ironically, they decided to keep the "Vol. 1" from the Marvel edition, even though Vol. 2 is obviously not going to happen. This came out in 2012!
(2) I decided to read this now because I just finished "Jupiter's Legacy" and I hear this is somehow connected.

Jayson’s Previous Updates

Jayson
Jayson is on page 115 of 127

Notes:
(1) A very solid Mark Millar effort, but that's about all it is. I can't say there's anything all that special about it.
- There's no real subplots, or any tangents involving the team members.
- There's a romance angle, but it's about as generic as it gets.
(2) Bottom line, you're promised a supervillain heist story, and that's exactly what you get. No more, no less.

Jayson is on page 55 of 127

Notes:
(1) Lots of inside references and allusions early on here.
- We have characters named after Chris Bachalo and Walt Flanagan.
- There's a Jollibee analogue called Jollibug, for all the Filipino readers.
- We get a Heather Mills McCartney amputee joke.
(2) Loyalty's the main theme here, it's the reason for the heist.
- Not greed, but doing a favor for a beloved mentor.
