alien imitate wheelchair. trying to communicate but what does it want?

listening to audiobook. easy to follow first person perspective. main character uses a wheel chair and that end up being important in some unusual ways. the aliens are not like any i’ve read about before. really hoping we get communication and a true look at who they are. the last first contact book ended unsatisfactory
