The cliché miscommunication ploy rarely ever gets pulled off well. The author usually resorts to blowing everything out of proportion and very leading (and telling) internal monologues that only serve to railroad and drag the plot on and on. This plot would be over in a snap if they communicated better, yet Murphy somehow doesn’t think his BFF deserves that. It was interesting but it’s just getting tired fast.

A bit sad that Murphy has so little trust in his BFF. It seems like such a young-teen problem.
