“Mary’s Job” - oh the irony of reading this while the government are doing everything they can to punish the public service for being the ones who implement their policy.

I wrote short updates with my thoughts on the last five stories in this book and Goodreads didn’t save them. That’s another reason to leave this stupid site.

“A Lightness” - jesus fucking christ

“Like a Good Idea” - rehab that seems calculated to make people relapse.

“When You’re Sick” - I dunno.

“Everything” - the irresistible urge to put off something long enough that you can pretend you didn’t want it.

“One of Your Skies” - dying might be as banal as living.

“This Is Better” - sad gay man story. Very well written with nice character moments, but quite dated for a story this recent.

“The Kiss” - someone kisses a soldier in the dark and he doesn’t admit to himself that he likes it.
