maybe it’s me, but this book just seems weirdly sexual for the age group it’s aimed at. i understand that one, the YA age range is pretty wide, up to 18, and two, these feelings are a normal part of development, so if it was mentioned here and there in a less weird way, okay (1/?)

Scarlett’s character(ization) is weak, thus making her an annoying, unlikable Mary-Sue ass bitch. she bores me. and considering she lacks any sense of adventure, i’d venture a guess in saying she bores, or at least irritates everyone else in this book too. if she doesn’t grow a pair by the end of it, i’ll hop into the next one just to slap her pathetic ass.

someone needs to take the words “as well” away from miss stephanie. every time i think she’ll use something else, there it is again. there are other options. so use them. or i’m gonna fuckin lose it

i get that kids need safe ways to explore and understand those feelings. but we have to remember the age range is as young as 12, and if it’s in YA section, any of the youngins can grab and read it. and while it’s not necessarily explicit, it is a bit too consistent and too much for me to feel comfortable handing it to my 12 yr old if i had one.
