Chapter 19/42 of the Audiobook on Scribd

I'm only on Chapter 8 of this audiobook and it's a very interesting micro-history so far, but I admit I was surprised to learn the author is a white woman and there are moments during the narration she reminds me of Skeeter from the beloved white savior novel The Help.
