Notes:
(1) This series makes pretty absurd concepts feel logical.
- For example, the premise of abducting seemingly random celebrities seems like pure gimmickry until it's explained, then it makes perfect sense.
(2) The last issue is a straight-up spy comedy. Not in an "Austin Powers" or "Get Smart" sense, more like "Chuck."
- More offbeat and weird than slapstick or farce.

Notes:
(1) So far, each issue has had its own sort of flavor. Issue #3, for example, felt like a genteel "Deadly Class" whereas issue #4 felt like a cross between "Grand Theft Auto," "Narcos" and "Pretty Woman."
(2) I enjoy the honesty here between Jack and Gary.
- Gary doesn't pretend his bad behavior is anything but bad and Jack only gives him blunt, unvarnished guidance.

Notes:
(1) I'm liking this more than I thought. It extols a positive message of personal development, a very "teach a man how to fish" prescription, that you don't really see in fiction nowadays.
- It's an old-fashioned outlook that feels fresh.
(2) I enjoy how spy training involves Mr. Miyagi type menial tasks.
- Street begging and busking to learn persuasion, for example.

Notes:
(1) I think movie tie-in covers are tacky as hell and under normal circumstances I wouldn't be caught dead with one. However, the edition I read is the one I shelve and, tragically, this is the only eBook edition available.
- Given Millarworld's moved from Image to Dark Horse, I could just wait for the inevitable new Dark Horse edition, but who knows when that'll be?
