She had me until she started being an unreliable narrator…of her own story. If I wasn’t this far into it I think I’d DNF.

Getting to the more uncomfortable and biting parts of the book. Nonetheless, she points out accurately that yes, skating as a sport is very conservative and traditional. But I would argue it has been more progressive, at least in the outside, than she alludes.
