King Henry II of France once jousted and a splinter went into his eye and his brain but he was still surviving for awhile.
Duke Francois, in efforts to figure out how to save him, decided to shove splinters into the eyes of condemned criminals to see if he could get it out of them without them dying…they all died and so did King Henry
