It's like Vampire Academy but more complex and with an MC who is filled with rage. I just can't decide if she's so spiteful that it's cringy? On one hand, I get it given her circumstances. On the other hand, it makes her very flat.

The magic system is so blurry and sometimes the social commentary is so pointed. Yet, the prose is undoubtedly enticing and keeps me going. I've never been so provoked for thought and challenged by trying to review a book.... Sigh.
