“I had my womb destroyed at the Academy, it was interfering with my training.” I didn’t pay much attention when this happened in idk chapter 5? But the repetitive emphasis on Rin deciding to destroy her womb is a very poor and stereotypical attempt at the “strong feminist female character” wherein said character has to remove a female attribute to seem sTrOnG and man-like because feminism💪🏻 am i right

idk why a lot of YA fantasy authors try to make their female leads as masculine as possible because god forbid that a feminist character possesses characteristics and attributes that are considered to be conventionally feminine. also, why is it always womb = weak, menstruation = disgusting? can't authors come up with something new and different that would actually help destigmatize periods? idk, this particular detail bothers me so much and doesn't sit right with me
