I bought this book in June of 2009 before I had taken any formal music theory courses an found it impossible to read. Even during and after a year of aural skills and theory it was difficult. Finally, seven years after purchasing this book, I've picked it up again and I'm finding it accessible. I'll have to read over some things again. Overall the information is good, but I wouldn't recommend this to beginners.
