The seemingly final blog post was an absolute slog to get through. I wanted to skip it. That part made me want to give the book a 0/5. Once Merry met with Rachael again, my curiosity skyrocketed and I am now tempted to give this a 5/10 instead. I was not expecting the twist about their father, and that made it click for me. Why it seemed lame before. Wasn’t expecting a spaghetti sauce related Chevrok’s gun.

The book was really starting to grow on me around 1/3rd of the way through, but oh my God, the “possession” dialogue is borderline insufferable. It’s trying so goddamn hard to be quirky or witty or spooky and it sounds like something from Wattpad. This story better have a kickass ending or it’s getting a 2/10.

I am not super into this main character, she talks way too much and is kinda try hard quirky. I’ll give her a chance though.
