Okay, first I was questioning why the Saints didn’t kill Layla when they believe she killed two of their people. But now I’m confused about why Valeriya is mad Layla’s working with them. She allowed the cops and the Saints to come take her from their nest.

I was enjoying this book a lot more when it was more about people from different groups in this society clashing and interacting with each other. This mystery that was introduced is boring and I still find it strange that they would let Layla part of the investigation. Especially when the evidence points to Layla. I'm trying to not let it bother me, but it is. I don't fully understand this world.

While I am enjoying the book, I am having a hard time why they would make Layla and Elise work together. Especially when the Saints are in the business of killing Reapers, it doesn’t make sense for them to let Layla live. Unless I missed something about how things work when you’re a reaper that’s part of a clan.
