So, tomorrow's my birthday and my fiance asked me what I would like as a gift. I told him anything's fine, really, and he sighed and said I'm the most difficult person to give gifts to because I only like books. "If it was for me, I'd buy you a hundred books, but that'd be lame, right? I can't just buy you books."
I can't just buy you books??? YES?? YOU CAN?? AND SHOULD??????

Honestly, it’s the worst when people think that gifting JUST (lots of) books wouldn’t be enough… it’s the BEST!!!! Give me all of them!! 😮💨

Take a screenshot of this and send it to your fiance: PLEASE, SHE JUST WANT YOU TO GIVE HER BOOK, IT'S REALLY THE BEST GIFT EVER. If you can build for her a bookshelf like the one in the Beauty and the Beast? Sure thing, but even a hundred books would be more than fine. Please we don't want jewelry, we just want book, PLEASEHope this help😂❤️
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My niece is luckiest girl, her mom and dad, her uncle and aunt, and of course me, all buy her books.
Tell him the best gift would be a trip to the bookstore where you get to pick out the books you want. That is what my husband does for me; and I love doing it as he even indulges me to tell him why I picked the books I did. And I always try to pick one (horror) that I want to read and he will want to as well. It’s like a mini date at the bookstore for us.
Although, he has always kind of ‘gotten it’. 20+ years ago he was very smart and in the first year we dated brought me random books instead of flowers. He told me he knew I would rather have my ‘dead or dying foliage’ with words on it than attached to brightly coloured flowers!
He can be taught to ‘get it’ and he doesn’t need to understand why you love books. He just needs to know that is the answer to everything. :)
He’s your fiancé and he still talks about ‘just’ books?!🙄 Tell him that perhaps you should get a new boyfriend instead of ‘just’ books. Maybe he’ll understand.
big update: I came home from work and found 4 packets. 2 big ones and 2 small with a bookstore sticker on the front, which means we have at least 2 books on the list. Someone did his homework, apparently 😎🤭 can't wait to see what he picked!

This is the sweetest thing ever, Mel! And you're so right...as long as it's books, it'll always be an amazing choice 🤭
