Brilliant author. Captivating and humorous and shocking.
In none of the 3 short stories that I've read from this collection (The Judgment, Metamorphosis, In the Penal Colony) does the story have a real sense of closure at the end. It almost feels as if Kafka decided to stop writing. Nevertheless the journey is worth it. Every sentence is masterfully and carefully crafted. Every detail matters.
