dying to know if this was inspired/ has any sort of ties to a small place by jamaica kincaid

the way the stories are ended are always so satisfying and done in such a genius way. never do they feel dragged out. the sweet spot is always reached.

the tears won’t stop and i have a feeling this is a story i’ll think about for years and years and years and always be in love with it

not only valley but san fernando specifically which i love because there’s something so sweet about reading and not having to make up a place to go along with what is described but be able to read and walk those exact streets once more :’)

i cry and i pray that one day we’re freed from exhaustion.
